The Trent Women’s volleyball team completed the first half of their season Thursday night on a very positive note, defeating the visiting Seneca Stingers in three straight games, 25-10, 25-8 and 25-19. Coach Peter Carter commended his players for the total team effort shown through their entire ten game winning streak. “The senior leadership shown by players such as Alex Thompson has been exceptional”, he said as his team readied itself for the mid-season break. They will be traveling to Quebec for a tournament January 7-9 to get some further experience against top flight opponents. Their next league game will be at home against George Brown on January 14.
The Trent Men’s volleyball team ended the first half of their season with an impressive win over the second place Seneca Stingers at home Thursday night. The teams battled for five tight, hard fought games in which the visitors took two, 25-22 and 25-21 while Trent answered with scores of 26-24, 25-22 and the final one, 15-13. Coach Rusty Haines was relieved that the hard work his team has been putting in was finally rewarded. “This was an especially good win as we were short two starters. Brad Keizerwaard had a great game and our total team effort paid off.” The team next plays at home again on January 22 against Georgian College.
