What is #RAISETHESWORD?
A screen capture from the first campaign video for #RaiseTheSword, 2017-2018 academic year.

For those surfing the web from a beach in Punta Cana, or the ones lucky enough to have high speed internet in your parents basement on this beautiful fall reading week, you may have come across the new Trent Excalibur promotional video called #RAISETHESWORD: a minute long motivational video showcasing Excalibur varsity athletes, athletic facilities, past championship history, and a passion for Trent University. And if you are someone who tends to refresh your browser more times than an actor does a room in a Febreze commercial, you may have noticed that the video on Facebook now has close to 9k views since being released! But what does #RAISETHESWORD mean?

Inspired by the legend of King Arthur, RAISE THE SWORD is a marketing initiative created by Trent Varsity Athletics aimed to increase Trent brand awareness online and to help continue building Excalibur pride not only on campus, in our community, but also province wide. It is about engaging all students, athletes, staff, alumni and community members who have been bleeding green for decades, while it is also about proving to other University’s that no matter when Trent is on the ice, field, water, or the court, in a business competition, or researching the future of clean water technologies, we as Excalibur will not back down from a challenge. We will RAISE THE SWORD.

With the help from Devon Ulrich photography, a dream for the Excalibur quickly became a reality, and RAISE THE SWORD was born. Stay tuned for the Excalibur athlete fortnightly articles in the Arthur and additional content throughout the year.

You can follow the Excalibur on social media @TrentExcalibur or email them at varsity@trentu.ca.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

"Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system."
