City Councillors returned to city hall on the evening of August 8th after a month-long summer break. On the table for discussion this evening was the recently passed Bill 23, or “More Homes Built Faster Act”.
Peterborough City Council met for General Committee on the evening of June 19th in what is sure to determine which Councillors will land on the naughty list this year.
Issue 3 arrives just in time for the holidays - when exam stress is at a peak and snow blankets the city making it even less pedestrian friendly than usual. As City Council weighs the relative worth of a human life, they're also faced with student demands for better transit. Arthur is sooo back! After a rejuvenating summer sabbatical in the woods, Arthur returns just in time for the school year with more of the hard-hitting community reporting you've come to expect from this small but mighty rag. The City of Peterborough has a Budget! Council adopted the 2024 City Budget during a meeting on December 11th which includes a property tax rate increase of 7% - down from 9.59% in the original draft budget proposed by City Staff.
