Student Journalist
and
Staff Collective Member

The (self-appointed) friendly neighbourhood journalist makes his triumphant return for Volume 60 with the naive expectation that his third time on staff will be the charm. This marks the comeback of his local arts and culture coverage, with a hint of sports and media-fixation-based journalism. Often deemed Ian Vansegbrook’s accomplice, he is the main videographer of Arthur’s social media videos and long-form YouTube content.

Allen is a third-year English Literature student in Trent’s Teacher Education Stream who hopes to instil a love for reading and writing in his future high school English students. Their writing has won several local awards in their hometown of St. Thomas, Ontario including the Bob McCaig Sweetgrass Award for Community Education and the Tammi Thwaites Scholarship for Language. They also received the John Pettigrew Prize for first-year English student essays back in 2023. His work is fuelled by 70s soft rock, Rhett & Link videos, the colour orange, and his undying love for the oxford comma.

He spends his spare time making no progress on his guitar skills and successfully completing one crossword every quarter.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
