For almost five years, “The” Evan Robins left her mark on Arthur. After joining as a staff writer in the summer of Volume 55, Evan spent the next two years as a journalist before taking up the mantle of editor in Volume 58 when she and her co-editors lead the masthead to a John H. McDonald (JHM) Award win for Best Online Media Presence.

Though she’s engaged a diversity of topics in her time, Evan is passionate about local, solutions-oriented journalism highlighting the experiences of marginalized communities. Her writing has covered local politics, queer & trans issues, and labour inequity.

Evan departed Arthur for new pastures in August of Volume 60 with joy in her heart; gone, but not forgotten.

Outside of Arthur, Evan has contributed by-lines to Maclean’s, Xtra, Trent’s Journal of Undergraduate Studies, and most recently to CBC Arts’ Emerging Queer Voices column. In due time, she’d like to add a book, an episode of Doctor Who, or an entry in the long-running Fire Emblem franchise to her list of accolades, though in the meantime she contents herself with being the most insufferable person on Letterboxd.

Evan has been twice nominated for the Canadian University Press’ JHM award for the Globe and Mail Student Journalist of the Year. She was awarded a certificate of merit in World Press Freedom Canada’s inaugural student achievement category, and has won and been nominated for a number of national journalism awards besides.

If you would like to read more of Evan’s work, follow her on Medium, Substack, and at all the links above. If you happen to be a recruiter from a masthead willing to offer her a large enough salary to pay rent, she implores you to reach out.

In the meantime, she continues to work on her novel(s).

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
