Ian Elliott Vansegbrook returns to Arthur’s 60th volume as Digital Media Editor. Entering his third year at Arthur, and his fourth at Trent, he is very excited to continue to spread the paper’s  gospel to the world wide web and beyond. Charged with the proliferation of journalistic materials in the digital space, he plans on producing content for Arthur’s socials (which for legal reasons related to a certain Canadian bill are NOT journalism) both personally and in tandem with staff.

A passionate question-asker, he hopes to bring this to bear on anyone who lets him. Once described as “intellectually promiscuous”, he has managed to elude having a signature interest. He’s written about sports, community events,  and neurodivergent professors in his poorly named Ianvestigates series, as well as a slew of other interviews that caught his eye (for example, knights and wizards). He also plans on networking* with other news organizations, student-run and otherwise, and bringing their expertise to Arthur.

Beyond his work, Ian spends his time playing video-games, reading, and watching horror, among a plethora of other hobbies and interests. He’s currently working through the Treyarch easter eggs, as well as desperately trying to plan Dungeons and Dragons sessions.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
