The Kawartha World Issues Centre (KWIC) is a charitable organization that connects global issues to local initiatives in Nogojiwanong/Peterborough. We are the last remaining global education and resource centre in Ontario run by dedicated staff and volunteers in collaboration with community partners. KWIC facilitates opportunities that can change how people understand the world and foster equitable and sustainable communities.
We make change happen through three areas of programming. Our Community Education work focuses on connecting the community to global issues through events, workshops, and presentations available to anyone in the Peterborough area. Our notable events include the annual International Women’s Day Event, the 2019 Community Forum on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and our 2022 Gender Equality Report. Our Youth and In School programming empowers young people through education with in-school programs, leadership training, mentorship, and valuable volunteer and paid opportunities. Our last key area of programming focuses on supporting emerging and grassroots community initiatives under our umbrella until they are self-sufficient.
We have an office and resource centre located on Trent’s campus in the Environmental Science Centre (B101). The KWIC E.Y.E centre is a space with a resource library, cozy chairs, natural light and bright green plants. It’s the perfect study space for students looking for a quiet place or want to host a club meeting! On Tuesdays throughout the Fall semester, join us at the KWIC EYE Centre for our KWIC Conversation program, a bi-weekly discussion of timely topics and pressing issues.

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.
A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!
