To the Editors of Arthur,

The late Ann Farquharson was a student at Trent University in the late 1970s and I am personally so fortunate that she was one of the students in my History 415 and was so kind and generous as to bring me a huge bouquet of flowers. She graduated from Trent in 1981 and since then she has done so much for the Trent community that she was given The Spirit of Trent Award. She has also served as a City Councillor of Peterborough and has served the entire Peterborough community by serving on countless Boards including Big Sisters, Peterborough Musicfest, the Peterborough Haliburton YWCA, and with our former M.P. Maryam Monsef to forward the empowerment of women, that she was a great gift to the entire community of Peterborough and leaves many lasting legacies to us all. She will be long and deeply missed by me and by her many friends and by her bereaved family.

But I am writing this letter because and as I always told Ann, she was my very favourite student at Trent and as she always told me that I was her favourite Trent prof and gave me huge hugs, now I am feeling just devastated to have lost my so very special and long lasting friendship with the late Ann Farquharson.

I also hope that my letter will convey to current Trent students that even if Trent professors sometimes seem tough and give disappointing and seemingly unjust grades to their students, in my experience the vast majority of Trent U. professors really deeply care about their students.

RIP our dear Ann Farquharson.
